5Nice....  Nov 30, 2008
Easy to use, nice first stand for my acoustic guitar. Great components, looks great and well grounded.

5Great stand  May 30, 2008
I've been a bassist for over 30 years. I had a small ultimate stand before this one that was great, but doesn't hold my new bass as well. On a ship contract recently, they had these and I think it's the best stand I've used, so I bought one for myself. Very solid, (even during rough seas) and I don't have to worry about the stand marking my instrument. Easy on, easy off and it folds up reasonably small, though not tiny. Build seems solid. I play over 100 dates a year and I've had cheaper stands that lasted 10 years, so I'm not expecting any quality issues.

5Great Guitar and instrument stand  May 22, 2008
I own three of these stands, two of them over six years. While I was active with a band for the first three years I had them, they were set up and taken down twice a week and have held up well. All you have to do for setup is twist the lock, fold the legs down and twist the lock back then flip over the cradle and then adjust desired height. I have used them for acoustic guitars, banjos and mandolins. They are rather sturdy, even around my five year old.

My primary reason for purchasing these stands was their compact size when folded (approx. 21" x 3.5"). And also because there are not any rests for cables and straps to get tangled in. However, I must note that my acoustic bass guitar is too tall for this stand to rest in the cradle, for this check out the GS200 that has rests built into the legs (but no cradle height adjustment). An added bonus are the slots in the protective rubber of the cradle to hold picks.

I have had only one issue with one of my stands. The lock that adjusts the height of the cradle has a pin that worked its way almost out. I had to gently tap it back with a hammer. Still works fine.

The GS100 is more expensive than a simple tube stand, but if you need a stand that is compact to carry or does not have rests to tangle straps and cables this is definately worth the cost and deserves consideration.

5Great Stand  Apr 27, 2008
My wife gave me one of these stands as a birthday gift. Out of the several stand I have had in the past this is the best.

The Guitar hangs from the head with the body resting on the legs. The padding works great. It is very stable and the guitar lifts out with out a problem.

I highly recommend this stand.

5Excellent guitar stand  May 15, 2007
This stand works like a charm--holds guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, etc. etc--anything with a neck and peghead. Adjusts easily and securely. Has an elastic strap to keep instrument from falling out of the suspension fork, but I've never found it necessary to use.

Folds into a nicely compact form, and it's sturdy enough, but its chief virtue is that it suspends the instrument by the peghead (sorry, you post-moderns who play the "headless" guitars) and doesn't have the bottom bracket to get tangled in the strap when you need to change instruments quickly.

One caution--depending on the shape of the peghead and placement of your machine heads you may find that the suspension fork can nudge the tuning pegs. I haven't found it a problem, but if you have a banjo, for instance, with easy-turning planetary tuners, you might need to be careful in "hanging" the instrument.
