Wonderful amplifier Sep 09, 2008 This is a great little amplifier. I was having a tough time finding something small, with reasonable volume, and a high quality sound. My first try was a small low-end Marshall, it was ok but the volume was really low. My next amp was a Fender Princeton, it had horrible static that made it impossible to hear. Afterwords I tried a number of amps in the guitar shop with no luck finding anything that sounded reasonable in my price range.
After checking a number of review sites, I stumbled across Tech 21, and got a deal on ebay. I expected to be disappointed, boy was I surprised. The sound of this amp is incredible. There is none of the static found on the Fender. The volume is more than enough for a practice amp. I love the retro look, and the build quality is excellent. The manual is very good, and provides the settings for a number of popular artists. I have played all of my electrics and acoustics through it and they all sound great. I have used some effects pedals through it and they sound good as well. The A/B pedal it comes with is built like a tank, certainly on par with my BOSS effects if not sturdier.
My unit did not come with a manual, the customer service department was very responsive in providing one. I have no doubt they would provide excellent service if something goes wrong.
Great amp! Sep 01, 2007 I lucked out and got this on that auction website for nearly half the price. I accidentally won this and a Line6 POD at the same time (thinking my bid on this would never win). I tried them both out, assuming I'd like the POD better. To my surprise this amp blew the POD away. The POD does sound very good on a clean amp, but this amp has a less synthesized sound to it.
It is very versatile, covering all sorts of sounds. I play casually at home and this is some big overkill for my needs, but its certainly fun knowing I've got an amp that can cover almost any sound.
All in all, I'd say this would be a great amp for all but the most anal purists. It would be especially nice playing local gigs at bars, clubs, etc.
I've played it head to head against a tube amp, and its hard to tell the difference. Except when the guy with tube amp complains he needs to change his tubes again, and that he only gets one sound out of his amp.

Super amp Feb 27, 2006 I used to haul a heavy 2x10 tube combo to gigs- until I got this baby. More power than I'll ever need for small halls, channel switching, and a tremendous range of tones. You can, literally, create just about any amp tone, from a smooth JC-120/Polytone jazz sound to a Fender tweed to a Marshall stack or a hot AC30.
And it's done with analog circuitry, not digital; the result is a very realistic sound that doesn't have any of that "computer generated" sound you often get from Line6 amps and other modeling amps. If you've ever used a Sansamp pedal, that's the range you get.
The controls are different from the other Tech21 amps, which are set up like one or more GT2 pedals. This amp gives you two channels with very different qualities. One can be thought of as a classic Fender sound that can be tweaked anywhere from a mellow Vibraverb sound up through a tweaked Mesa Boogie. The other channel is the Brit channel, and yields a range of classic Vox and Marshall sounds, as well as a number that haven't been invented yet.
I liked this amp so much that I now own three different Tech21 amps. My only tube amp is a Fender champ, and I just keep that for sentimental reasons.

Excellent Amp - Lots of versatility Oct 14, 2004 If you ever wanted your lead guitar sound like Carlos Santana, then this is the amp to get as close to Santana's characteristics as possible. The Tech 21 Trademark 60 is a high-quality amp that provides you the opportunity to sound like a lot of different amps depending on your needs. You will get a lot of cool sounds out of it, or just play it straight and simple and it becomes a powerhouse.
For live shows you need to make sure to get the Extension cabinet for an extra 60 watts of power. For the studio you'll appreciate the from-amp-to-board feature on the amp as you won't lose the particular sound settings as you record directly into your computer or a multi-track recorder.
The Trademark 60 is a sturdy amp that is light weight and it is solid. It's only a few bucks more than competitive amps, but I think the quality of the Tech 21 is truly exceptional.
