The SansAmp GT2's streamlined design allows you to "architecturally" create your own rig in seconds by choosing amplifier type, modification, and speaker cabinet/mic placement configurations. Tech 21 has taken the best parts of the most wanted tube amplifier set-ups and broken them down into individual, user- accessible "components!" You'll mix and match specific sound characteristics in ways that would otherwise be physically improbable, requiring several amplifiers to achieve the same result! The GT-2's features include DRIVE control to adjust the overall amount of gain and overdrive and a LEVEL control adjusts the output level, without altering any tonal characteristics. The on-board active tone controls compensate for the limited range of guitar speaker cabinets and combos, assuring optimum control in any situation or setting. Sample style settings for guitar include Bassman?, SRV, Marshall? Bluesbreaker and Plexi, Metallica, Van Halen, SVT?, slap, King's X for bass and much more!

5Amazing!  May 22, 2008
I've used these pedals for years. Absolutely stunning. It looks simple but offers a wide range of sound. This pedal is NOT for "crank-the-gain" drop-d barchorders. It's an elegant distortion/overdrive that, with proper throttling, offers vicious power with amazing clarity. It's a finesse pedal that finesse players can really dig into. It even sounds spectacular DI'd. I've recorded many a guitar track that way.

There is one issue to be careful of, however. Every GT2 I've seen or heard about that's over a year or two old seems to have intermittent problems with the stomp switch. I'm not sure if there's a newer revision that corrected this problem. Take it easy on the switch.
