5Great Small Venue Mixer  Apr 01, 2008
This little board was inexpensive enough that I bought it for a neighborhood jam band, without consulting my wife. Buying through Amazon I was able to use their $30 coupon (for applying for an Amazon Visa) and get this item delivered to my door for $151.00.

Our little jam band is made up of former pro, semi-pro, and a couple hobbyist musicians. There is a lot of experience and pretty high expectations in this group of has-bins. We were unanimously impressed with the value of this mixer.

The board is quiet and has a great deal of flexibility in its sub-group sends. The effects are very tasteful and appropriately subtle. Many of the units we checkout at our local Guitar Center had many unusable and overwhelming effects. The EQ section was very responsive and is able to satisfy even our snobbiest singer. The manual is pretty good, and we definitely needed some help to understand how to assign channels. We marry the Mix.260FX to a couple of Crown amplifiers and some TOA and JBL speakers and are consistently rewarded with very impressive sound.

Minor gripes, which are not at all fair at this price point, are:

1. You could always use more mic preamp inputs. Four is enough for everything we've done, but who knows down the road.

2. In this day and age we started to think about digital outs through a USB cable for recording. TAPCO makes a couple of digital interfaces but they cost about as much as this mixer. It will be nice when that feature is integrated.

5FINALLY WHAT U NEED AND CAN AFFORD TOGETHER!  May 19, 2007
Excellent for several different purposes. I use this desk for live presentations and to record at my studio. The sound is clear an strong, and the effects that come with it are pretty good and veeeery useful specially in live situations. Its an extremely versatile desk, and for it's price i would say you cannot find a better one available.
