good utility Nov 17, 2008 I use this instrument daily (with my iMac garage band sofeware) for choir practice to make sure I stay on pitch. I like that I can use garage band to easily alter the pitch of the keyboard. Usually I set A (abvove middle c) to 440 mHz for modern music, but I may set it to 435 for Baroque music. I also like having a keyboard that is light weight and I can store it under a bench. Right now I have the keyboard on my ironing board next to my computer. The ironing board is adjustable and gives it a secure base. So I can wait to buy a stand until the stock market recovers - no matter how long that takes.

lead paint verified by M-Audio Nov 11, 2008 I have to give this product the lowest possible rating, because of the lead paint.
I contacted M-Audio for clarification on the lead warning, and they replied that the external paint does indeed contain lead; the warning is NOT just based on internal circuitry with lead content.
When M-Audio switches to a lead free paint, I will re-evaluate. Until then, parents beware.
Lead is a known neurotoxin. From reading some of the comments about the lead warning here, especially from the person that sees no problem with lead and licks the keyboard, it appears that damage has already been done.
Best investment ever! Oct 11, 2008 I got this keyboard when I was visiting family in the U.S. and needed something to practice and write my music on.
This is the only keyboard I found with semi-weighted keys which comes in 3 sizes (49, 61 or 88 keys)
the touch feel is great! it also has on board controls for volume, velocity, pitch bend and advanced controls.
it comes with a USB or MIDI inputs as well as an analog output and AC input if you don't want to use the USB.
they keyboard itself is very light-weighted and is carry-able if you need to travel with it.
overall it was one of the best investments I've made in a long time!

Wash hands to avoid cancer Sep 24, 2008 This is by far the cheapest and most full featured controller in this price range BUT it comes with a warning sticker about how you need to wash your hands after each use to avoid getting cancer or causing birth defects! Screw that.
I think this is despicable business practice and I only wish I could do more to hurt M-Audio's reputation than this.
great product Aug 28, 2008 comes with everything you need to make a great song. I enjoy mine for hours.
