5Amazing for the price range  Oct 23, 2008
They're well-built, comfortable and fit my small head (I can't wear them and my glasses, though). They do not block outside noise very well, so you can hear what's going on around you and whatever you're listening to. However, you can stay up all night blasting music through these and your roommate won't hear a thing.

The incredibly long cable and their large size make them not very portable, but they're incredibly durable. I've been banging them around on trains and around college for six months and they've held up fine.

I've recently had an issue where the right ear cuts out, but I called Equation Audio's tech support line today and they're sending me a replacement cable for free. If that doesn't fix the problem, they said they'd send me new headphones. Their tech support is amazing, they speak English and the phone call was only 5 minutes long.

I highly recommend these for someone who wants higher-end closed headphones for under $150.

5Fantastic  Sep 25, 2008
I've now had these for almost two years probably, still use them nearly every day. Ludicrously powerful and they seal up sound really well. I'm not really much of an audiophile so I don't know fancy-smancy words to describe them, but they sounds really crisp and strong, like... a fresh carrot.

Sometimes I'll listen to something and their sound will surprise me all over again.

5I have to admit that I was skeptical.  Aug 25, 2008
I was looking for headphones for a long time, and despite seeing absolutely nothing but positive reviews (even outside of amazon), my paranoia with buying things still came through.

I was wrong.

The sound quality is absolutely amazing, the headphones are comfortable (I wore them last night for an hour and forty-five minutes without feeling even a slight bit of pain, let alone discomfort), the cord is long, and it's entirely adjustable so it will fit no matter what.

I would easily have paid much more for these headphones, and they were definitely worth the long wait.

5Wow  Jun 14, 2008
LLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVEEEEEEE, these things. Sound... Awesome.... Comfortable, hell, I've fallen asleep with them on countless times. I find them on the floor or smashed under the pillow. What else can I say?
Very distinct and vivid sound.

Now for the down side. Neither these or the RP-22x fold up inside themselves like a DJ set. But hey, these are more studio monitoring than DJ; although they articulate more than adequately for the task. The same could be said for the size.

Still for the money... dude... that's all I have to say.

Well maybe not.

These have enough bass for me. I am into purity. These do That. If you are the bassist, well maybe rp-22x. But really, these have the bass as well.

5The best unamped closed cans under $100.  Nov 27, 2007
Clamping force should wear off after a while, and you can remove the foam inside and leave the drivers naked or put a thinner one on to improve the midrange and treble. Beyer DT770 pads also fit on them for more comfort. Bass is tight and punchy. Soundstage is great, even for gaming.
