4Electric Guitar for Dummies  Sep 23, 2008
My 12 year old bought this with his own money. He loves it. He's learn the basics at his own speed, enough for him to graduate to a better guitar. Thanks.

Okay for beginners and the book is okay ... not the best teaching material ... guitar is decent quality but the nut (plastic part on the top of hte neck of the guitar) was slightly chipped so the 1st string tends to slip out if played hard, amp shipped broken and is completely worthless, and the tuner is garbage (get a digital tuner).

5Excellent guitar pack for anyone who wants to learn  Sep 04, 2008
This is my first guitar and I am very happy with the quality of it and the book included is very informative and easy for any beginner to comprehend. The CD it brings is very helpful for learning how to tune your guitar, practice riffs, and can be done after practicing for a week or more. The amp is good for a 10 watt amp. Overall, it's a great buy for anyone who wants to start learning the basics and the guitar itself looks sleek and feels amazingly smooth to play, since it has a maplewood fretboard. High quality, beginner-friendly, looks great and smooth, I recommend this to anyone willing to learn to play the guitar.

5Couldn't be anymore prepared...  Aug 19, 2008
This set literally gives you everything you need to begin playing. What more could you ask for as a beginner!! Especially useful, is the chord chart, it's like a one-stop-shop for all beginning players!!!

1Would not play in tune  Aug 12, 2008
I'm a (relatively) experienced acoustic guitar player who wanted a starter kit to go electric, and this seemed like a really good deal. However, the guitar would not play in tune. I tuned it with an electric tuner just to be sure, but if the open strings were in tune, then the notes a few frets up were not. This can be fixed by adjusting the neck, but for such a (relatively) cheap guitar, it seemed like this wouldn't be worth it. It is very possible that the guitar I received was defective, but instead of replacing it, I'm going to buy a guitar at a music store, where I can play it before I take it home.
